David Tilkin is
a litigation support and expert witness specialist with over 20 years of
experience in the securities industry and over ten years experience in the
compliance software industry. David has supervised hundreds of brokers and
scores of branch managers in his tenure at both Smith Barney and Wachovia
Securities. David currently maintains a Series 65 license and has previously
maintained a Series 63, 7, 8, and 4 licenses. David’s participation included
management, recruiting, training, sales leadership, administrative and compliance support.
Additionally,
David was the founder and CEO of Protegent, the first company to deliver
automated exception reporting, auditing and sales practice review technology to
the financial services industry. Protegent was sold to SunGard, Inc. in 2005 at
which time David became the Global Director of Compliance Product and Services
at SunGard as part of the Enterprise Solutions Group.
David has been
providing litigation and expert witness services at varying degrees since 2000
when David left Wachovia Securities to start Protegent. The Tilkin Group has been singly involved
with litigation support and providing expert witness services since 2008. The
efforts of the Tilkin Group have supported both private practice attorneys
litigating against the securities industry and supported the efforts of
financial service firms in their defense of claims. David has testified in
numerous cases around issues of suitability, supervision, raiding and sales
practice. David has published numerous articles on the issues of suitability,
supervision and financial services software.
We have unique
insight into the financial services community based on many years of "inside"
work experience. As broker, branch manager, regional director, senior
managing director and later as designer and developer of the first systems to
automate the process of supervision and sales practice review we are potentially
a significant resource in litigation support.
